Been thinking of some body mods like shaving the door handles and stuff. Would like a smooth rear end like the KL Xi. Unsure whether or not it'll fit. Would make things a lot simpler for me if it did. Anyone know?

pretty sure the chassis is the same, shouldnt have a problem, but better make sure with KJ/KL owners

Apparently the boot is different. The quarters may be different too. But yeah im pretty sure you need at least the boot lid off a TL for the bar to fit.

If you do a search you'll find a thread about putting a TJ front on a TL, i think the answer to your question is in there somehwere (its not a long thread). It was only made last week i think.

No, I want to keep my KJ front end, just want to know if a KL rear bar will fit a KJ. To me, the KL bar looks shorter than the KJ bar which has extended bar supports/brackets. Just like the front bars on KE-KJs.

it will fit im sure just the boot lid is more curved in the corner that meet the bumper of the kl so change the boot lid too!!!

Will I need to cut the KJ boot lid or extend it? Would like to keep the KJ lid.

id say u just need to shave the two corners of the tj lid but now i think bout it the tail lights may be slightly different but it will just be a matter of mm's difference... just get the rear bar that u want and work from there! but im definate bout the lid!

Thanks mate. Much rather cut the boot anyway. As for the tail lights, I'll have a look at filling the gaps. Unless I upgrade tail lights. Would that work?
So far what I found, the lights are a little different, but only slightly from what I can tell the KL lights have a little more curve, the bumper should go straight on, the boot lid will either need to be changed or shaved as the KL boot lid has a rounder corner where it meets the bumper.
I have a KL boot lid that I'm going to fit to my TH one day, things to think about if you decide on the KL lid,
It has no key hole
it has 2 cables, one for the auto release ie: remote/glovebox button and one that goes to the ski port for emergency release.
the looms are close enough to the same, only 1 extra plug on the KJ loom (for the Key sensor)
the tail lights are slightly different, but only on the top curve, slightly different look, but very subtle.
might be eaisier to take you current bumper to a body shop and get the groove filled and painted.
if you cut you boot you won't need to change your tail lights as there will be no gaps

Thanks mate, totally forgot about wiring.
Guess the cheapest route would be to just smooth out the original bar. Even though i'd much rather take the easy/lazy way out and just order in a KL bumper at work, paint it, fit it and be done with it.
Cheers for the input everyone.
