A question for you sedan drivers. Can any of you tell me if you removed the back seat you have a free wide access through to the boot?

I want to know If I bought a sedan and removed the back seat I could get sails and windsurfing gear and stuff in through there. That little port hole they have through the back seat isn't enough for four sails, two mast etc.

Might mean I don't have to get another wagon.

So your saying there's metal structure between the back seat and the boot?

Nothing an angle grinder wont fix.

Then when your not using it, whack in a sheet of MDF or something and put the seats back in.

I dont know the legalities of this, but im 99% sure Angle Grinder + Car Chassis = No No.

But then again, whos gonna look?

That metal part is a structural part of the car, so its an immediate unroadworthy/defect... but yeah, who's gonna know? Unless you crash your car and insurance won't cover you lol

Plus your already flexy magna is now made of jelly. Corners = no no.

they built the car a certain way for a reason - you'd compromise the structural integrity of the car by angle grinding all that metal out.
If you had a crash, your car would be in much worse shape. Probably a better idea to get a wagon!!

Spot on.
Take a closed box and press the sides together...pretty firm ain't it?
Now undo the top and bottom flaps...and press the sides together again...that'll be your car on side-impact,not a pretty sight.

And us wagon drivers fall into the squishy box category? Probably a good idea to leave my seats up for miniscule amounts of structural integrity :D

Gas_Hed you are a complete idiot, I cant believe you just suggested that. You Must know nothing about how cars are built.

The rear seats in the wagon are actually a structural part. MMAL engineering won a safety design award for them. Ever wonder why they are so heavy?

You have too much to do fixing that front bar and then making some for everyone else. If you have time to cut you have time to fix lol.

Dont cut metal in your car without an engineers cert...
