as standard i don't think so, but could be optioned from the factory ( if im wrong someone will point it out:D ). i think it was the exce's that had it standard. as for the carby look at the top of the 1st gen section page and go into the tm-tp info posts and it should be in there. if u can't find it ive got a manual for tn and tp so i can scan it for ya but u should be abl to find in the info posts thread.

float level non adjustable

carby rebuild kit available from repco

use only compressed air to clean carby or carby clean in a can

dont loose the little c clips and remember where the screws came from ..differnt lenghts and a long screw in the throat..the heads love to strip so use a good screwdriver

got to have those pots working and set choke off the car

drain coolant below the block befor removal
soak up any coolant that gets into the inlet manifold

TN can have power steering just bolts on ...the threads are in the block and chassis has room for it

I happen to be doing a p /steer conversion on a TN this weekend

Thanks Magna Buff I think its got no power steering but will check this morning , thanks for the exploded diagrams though...Esp the Carb I'm determined to have a "look" at the carb to see if some of the vac lines maybe sus. But I think the second venturi or butterfly (I really dont know the name) is in the carb is perm stuck ...can you carefully prod the valve and test it or is it a stiff uner pressure until the vacuum is right to open it? (You really can tell at this stage I know nothing)

could always swap it for a webber carby off a ford ( stock magna one isn't all that great) . a few members have done it and they liked the results. can't remember which one they used but if u search the 1st gen section it's in there:D

a few members got sick of trying to keep the stock one going, they don't have a great rep.the designs not the best. i know u got it for free so u probably don't want to spend more than u have to on it. but if the carbie gives u hassels it might be worth it to swap to the webber for the future.

some info for ya to read.

you have to remove the carby off the inlet manifold to free up the butterflys and clean

the carby only has about 100 parts to it

no prodding you might bend or break something

phew thank god its only got about 100 parts 101 and I would burn the car :bowrofl: ... Yes no more prodding will be very gentle... Also Rally Carb guys said to look closly that the cooling side of things is ok too... ie the coolant in etc but Im going to do a visual check of the hoses then spray a bit of carby spray see whats happens, could be a vac leak but dont know... Oh to get a S/hand one here in Geelong (of unknown quantity) $35.... Might buy one and play with it... Im hoping Ol'Fart will scan the pics of the carby stuff... I know its a hassle but I like circuit diagrams.. I can follow that stuff.

The problem with the Haynes Manual is certain sections they are not precise or include a lot of pics... I know most car mechanics have been there and done that but I had the impression that the Haynes Repair Manual was partly direct to the "Home " Mechanic..

Oh stuffed up on the model of the Car its a TP Stupid me told everybody it was a TN at the wreckers... Would the exhaust system differ?????
