Is there any product that can direct your exhaust flow to a different muffler?
I would like to have two mufflers, one for when I want it to be loud and one for just normal driving, but I would like to be able to change between mufflers at will like a little switch or something.

You could use 2 of the exhaust valves with butterflys without the holes in them and use a servo to switch between them sending the exhaust to one muffler or another. Otherwise somewhere like enzed or pirtek may have an idea.

Yes there are. Autospeed have done articles on them before - you can get a valve in your exhaust that can be triggered to open either manually or at a particular throttle position. You could either use it on its own so you'd have a restrictive (and quiet) exhaust while closed and free-flowing (and loud) when open, or split your main exhaust into two and put the valve on the "loud" pipe and open it when necessary.
The articles are a little old now, but vendors mentioned were:
VariFlow Technology (0409 288 347)
Active Exhaust Systems Australia
0448139302
kevintdavis@bigpond.com
HyperFlow (www.hyperflow.com.au)
Expect it to be expensive tho :(

You might want to check with your transport department because a manually (driver/passenger) controlled valve is illegal in Queensland. The valve must be hardwired to something (ecu, throttle cable) so the driver has no control.

Don't live in queensland so it's not a problem.
But thanks for the heads up.
Could you have a throttle set up on a very weak spring, so under light load it's basically closed but full throttle it'll swing open?

You would probably either work it out on throttle position (measure the voltage from the TPS and send it through a comparator) or work out the engine load by the duty cycle of the injectors. Use something like a PIC and have it fully porgrammable - easy.

go to www.bestmufflers.com (02)95473511
there is a guy there Chris Myles, this where i got my car done. he made is own system similar to the varex exhaust, he might be able to help you out, he did it on his own car (not a magna) but mabey he could make some, i know he does do custom work and designs systems for companies such as x-force.
