Has anybody or does anybody know how lowering on 20x8's go on a wagon? I know you cant camber the back wheels in because it is a wagon so will i need to rub my guards if i want to go low? Im thinking of having the rear guard sitting around the rim maybe half inch above and the front guard just above the tyre. I am going to get my car measured and then they are ordering in the custom springs and i don't want to install them to find out that the wheels wont fit in!

ive had a search around and "I" coudlnt find anything if there is another thread please show me!:bowrofl:

well the thing is even super low on wagons are to low. not low in looks wise but mate has his wagons on super low springs and his rears are hitting bump stop almost every bump so you might wanna take that into consideration as well

Bump stops are removable.

Whereas the wheel well is not(not easily). I'm pretty sure you aren't able to lay rail in a magna wagon due to the size of the wheel well. To tub it you'd have to cut into the back seat space which makes things nice and complicated. Maybe easiest way is to remove your springs and sit the car back down. Then see how far it can go before it starts hitting on things.

the car can go lower than removing springs, how?

when i was going to get bags, i was going to get custom strut tops made which mounted the struts further up into the vehicle if you can immagine...

i think the key here for the wagon owner is havint the right wheel combo to fit, i can tuck rim on the back without hassle, but i made sure i got the right offset etc... a diff offset rim like most other magnas have to mine would not fit on my car at all

Yeah i have thought about this but im just getting ozzytyres to lower it cheap and later im getting pedders springs/shocks so then i will get it done at good height etc. At the moment i just don't want me car looking so high and ugly and i have no cash! lol

you can get it to go lower than that is what im saying.... coil overs have a shorter body than magna struts for example so if you did the same on coil overs it'd go lower... or if i had custom strut tops and you didnt with the same springs i'd be lower than you... see where im going...

but all the op needs is for his coils to be compressed and i think he will be happy, unlike my when low is never low enough

Yeah agree with you. But all he wants is compressed springs, no mention of change of shocks so size of shock bodies was ruled out.:D

LOWER THE BETTER!:D

nah not getting shocks this time. Just springs and yeah apparently they just make the springs to the height ya want. So with the wheels only being 8's will they fit under me guards ya reckon??

Please Andrew, don't lower your car any more... I bet your exhaust hotdog cries itself to sleep every night from the torment the road gives it!!

Unless you're going out of your way to do something funky by buying stupid tyres, you can go as low on 20x8's as you can on 13x8's or 17x8's or whatever. The overall diameter of your wheel and tyre does not change (by more than a few %) no matter what size wheels you have.

Having said that, turn your car to full lock and see where on the front tyre it comes out past the guard. You can't go lower than that bit. :P

aaahhhh ok sweet ill do that today thanks:D !!. But with the back wheels, are they too wide to fit under the guards without cambering does anyone know? i wanna get the rear guard over the back wheels?

hey mate, i know this is a month old

how did u go with lowering the wagon?

im on super lows and the springs pop out and roll away when the car is raised.. so im scared to go any lower.

as for someone on here who said bump stops can be removed. the wagon rear suspension is completely different to the sedan.
our coils arent wrapped around the shock. theyr seperate and because of that the bump stop is attached to the car itself and it hits the rear axle, or whatever its called..
without that ur gonna get the rear ass hittin and scratching/damaging the axle..

anyway, thats whats stopped me from wanting the wgn any lower..

Hmm so we cant remove the bumps? Well im going to have to cut them then? At the moment it is sitting on the bumps at the back so im guessing a cant go much lower than? Do you know how big the bumps are? so i know if i can cut them much? At the moment its a mad ruff ride but im not sure whether thats just a mixture of being low and not much tyre eithier?
Cant say its good atm but when i get new shocks(might have to be dual action) and less bumps its will be nice and as for the springs popping out im scared now to try it! i have to take it in again to get the lowering fixed soon so ill let you know if mine do that too!
