first of all, im looking at sound deadening from jaycar. in the catalogue it has the bitumen sound deadening for $24.95 which is apparently enough material to sound deaden a single door. so im assuming ill need at least 3 of these as i need to do front doors and the boot. would it make any sense to sound deaden the inside panels of the doors as well as the outside panels? and cover up the service holes as well?
also i have a problem where the supports which run across the underside of the boot have come unstuck from the actual boot panel so even when i was running the 6x9s off the amp there was a slight rattle, now with the sub its much worse. would the sound deadening alone fix this? or do i need to glue the supports onto the bootlid panel first before i put the sound deadening on? do i also need to deaden the side quarter panels in the boot under the carpet?
at the moment im running fairly average and in my opinion thin dual core wires to the speakers and to the sub from the amp. if i was to rewire the entire system with thicker wire would it make a difference to the loudness/quality of sound?
one of the amps is currently being run by pretty thin power wire from the battery (im talking kinda between 8 and 12 guage). this is running my front speakers and the amp isnt very big at all, its only rated at 50WRMSx2. havent had a problem with this yet but would it make a difference to rewire to 4guage power?
the front speakers are currently mounted on the trim in the tr. its pretty strong but would it make any difference in quality of sound to screw in spacers behind them and mount it directly onto the inner metal panels somehow? and how would you do it? as you guys may be aware the hole in the inner panel isnt round so i may have slight difficulty mounting the spacers onto it. would it sound much better if i was to use the speaker pods from a verada or equivalent? and if so i can just screw the pods straight on without having to replace the doorskins, correct? and if thats the case, whats the average price that id be looking at paying for a couple of them (obviously left and right)?
thanks heaps
Alex
