Hi all
I started have a play around at removing my CD player, and when I removed the panel around the gear shifter (with the cup holders) I noticed a nice little white plug that appears to be for some sort of accessory (it's the little plug at the bottom of the picture below)

On both my TH and TJ the plug is there, but not being used
Can anyone point me in the direction of what it might be used for?

This plug is Gold if your modding stuff.
I used this plug to wire up the 2nd Lighter Socket in the woodgrain console, and to wire up my electric seat.

One of the many good things Mitsubishi did on the TH/KH onwards i think.
Its for a phone kit.
I had a phone kit installed and the installer said, 'what model of Verada is it?' I said KH and he goes, 'you ripper, my job is a whole lot easier now.'
He had a plug that fitted straight into it. Aparently you can easily buy them.
It supplies power and control over the radio when the phone is in use. It mutes the radio automatically and the word TELEPHONE comes up on the radio.

Anyone know if this is in earlier 3rd gens too (eg TE's)? Cause, as someone said before, that'd make modding in the cabin so much easier

My KE was one of the very last ones made, May 1997, may have something to do with it?

Hmm interesting... I bought a 2nd hand TJ2 Advance and thought the plug was fitted by the previous owner (a glass-mount antenna was already on the car when I bought it) - I didn't realise that there was a mute wire going to the plug as well... might have to connect that one up as well :)
