Hey guys, I've recently swapped my 3.0 to a 3.5 out of a TJ Sports. Now the issue I'm having is with cooling, or rather too much of it...lol
With my 3.0, it ran perfectly all the time, the temp gauge never moved from half way after initial warm up, regardless of the ambient temperature or how the car was driven.
Now after the conversion (using my old cooling system) the 3.5 takes a while longer to reach operating temperature, and on the colder nights sits just under half way. Now this isn't such a big problem, but once you hit the freeway the temp starts to drop a fair bit, sometimes to just under a 1/4 way up the gauge.
I'm using my old thermostat from the 3.0, and from what I can see in the Mitsubishi service manual there doesn't seam to be a different type in the 3.5.
Does anyone know possible issues that could be causing this?
