How do i reset the computer on a 3rd gen magna and also how do i check for error codes on the computer?.

if u just want to reset transmission settings etc... can just disconnect battery.
but to check and reset ecu codes will need OBD2 tool.

In order to check the error codes all you need to do is short out pin one on the plug socket under the steering wheel. use an alligator clip with a metal pin in one end and plug it into the far left hole on the back row (there are 2 rows) and then attach the other end of the clip to a bolt under the pedals to short out the connection and you will get your code flashings on your dash. If you get a series of quick flashes, theres nothing wrong, if you get a series of long and short flashes, or it just stays lit up, theres a recorded malfunction. The series repeats itself so you can attach the wire and get up to read it without missing a code.This will only work with the ignition turned to the 'on' position without the engine running.
