if they went out for no reason there is a problem...

open up your fuse box under the driver side footwell and get a torch, shine it on a 45deg angle to the fuses to see the links, if one of the links looks broken...replace it...

if it blows again ****ed if i know :)

check the 3rd gen forums, i dont know if they have lights that shine down onto the cluster or only lights from behind.

either way, quickly check your fuses (as always)
did they ALL go or just 1 or two?

The relevent fuse is in the engine compartment, its a blue one - I know this is for 2nd gens, 3rd gens might be different.

P.s I have had mine go out once or twice a while ago and havent had it go out for over a year or more.

I've got a similar problem, my Drive light on the dash turns on and off at random.
This only happens for drive, Reverse and Park have no change.
Surely there isn't a seperate fuse for each led, or maybe the led is just blown?

my D lite is compeletly off...doesnt work... jst like my mates TF too... think its jst blown or in ur case on the way out due to the fact that D is lite up 98% (yes i did the maths HAHAHAHA) of the time

it should be the fuse legend but if its not replacing them is an easy, but annoying as all hell, job...

Well, i assumed that the D never lit up as i was driving for around about 6 months without it, then one day it decided to turn on for a few weeks and was actually an eye sore.
If it's that much of a trouble to fix, i'll just leave it.

Not sure whether the third gens have them - but those symptoms sound very much like a rheostat issue. They affect all dash lighting including the auto gear lights normally I think?

if ur whole dash light ent out, it could be a globe on its way out. the dash has 4 globes . do the whole dash go out or just the speedo. also the D light is an led. considering that its on all the time, its is the first to blow. either switch it with the L globe or steal one from wreckers or buy one from mitsubishi. think its like 8 bucks or sumfing

The globes behind the dash will all be in parallel, so one of them blows, the others keep going. LED's you will never see blow for the life of a car, unless they are running massively overvoltaged (They have around 100,000 hours or something I think when run at spec... maybe more!). If the D light goes out, I would suspect a loose connection somewhere, or something dodgy with the TCU.
