err yer, was driving home from work today, and smelt something bad, pulled over, popped the bonnet and found smoke coming out from infront of where the engine oil cap is (3.5l 96 verada)
I dont think it was coming FROM the oil cap, but i dont know whats there to make smoke (Im not very mechanically orientated)
Trying to find batteries for my camera to take pics

If its not coming from the cap, you might have a gasket leak and oil dripping onto the exhaust manifold?

What the hell man, He was asking for some help with His engine bay smoking, not help quit smoking.
Same, could be gasket leak. Take the cap off and see if you can see where it's coming from.
If you can't see where, start it up and let it idle for a while, see if it comes back.

I sometimes have oil smoke/vapor come out of the oil cap if i open it after driving. Not bellowing out though, but you can see it.

What can sometimes happen is the rubber seal under the oil cap can leak and allow the oil to just run along the engine and burn up on the exhaust. Exhausts get a few-hundred degrees hot after only a few minutes, so oil will just smoke when it hits that. Have a look around the engine for any traces of oil - especially ones leading to the headers. If may be a rocker cover gasket also, as these are fairly prone in any car to leaking.

when i get down in the ground :P, I can see oil or something dripping down the exhaust (Or whatever the first bit is, that leads to the exhaust)

Yer i think you have a leak in your rocker cover gasket. Clean it all with degreaser then run your engine and see where it comes out.

NO do not tighten the rocker cover bolts. You may Crack your rocker cover!

that would be pro advice, if i could even see where it starts, its sort of all cramped and not much room in that area at all

If you don't feel confident trying to work out where the leak is coming from and fix it, I would recommend taking it to the local mechanic and just getting him to investigate. I can't imagine it costing much to get something like that fixed. It does definitely sound like a rocker cover gasket leak as others above have said though, and to replace one of those you will have to remove the entire rocker cover. You should also have the rocker cover bolts retensioned to torque properly, which unless you have a torque wrench, isn't all that easy.
Again as someone above said you should try some degreaser over the front of the engine and clean all the old oil. Start the car and run until operating temperature and watch where the oil comes from. The leak will be quite obvious then.
