hey guys
i just took complete control of my magna and got a new remote locking remote and it won't work. my mum picked it ip for me and she says i have to encode it ... how do i do this??
i think it might be the battery ... tho i'd hope mitsubishi would be kind enough to suply one. how do i open the controller? it is a single button one

When my battery went dead I had to re-set my remote cos it wouldn't work. Mitsu wanted to charge me $40 but all I did was put the key in and click to accessories and then hold in the button on the remote. It did a little beep and that was that. Worked ever since.

Mine was a 2 button one tho.. should be the same .. ???

I jus tried it in accesories and with the engine on, sadly it didn't work :cry: but thatnks anyway

from memory the sequence is in the owners manual. you need to switch to acc and back 5 times, then press the buttons on both remote keys (all keys you want to open the car with) you should then be right.

POPs you are a legend it worked a charm. i did it and when the hazard lights flash you know that it's worked.

Similar to what Pops said. Went for a swim with remote in pocket( you idiot!!!!!)Got replacement(for TE), turned to acc 3 times and hit button, hazards flash, then it's recoded. You've solved the problem anyway but just thought I'd put my experience on the forum. Time for another Vodka!!!( OK, everyone just move away slowly, no sudden movements)
