G'day Guys,
So with the whole body now completed work on the interior seemed to fly by and with some help from jamie and perry the 380VRX repeaters were ordered and installed today so I thought id post some pics of her interior and the new clear side/front indicators. The interior has had quite extensive modding with a painted cluster assembally, new 4's and 6's (in the doors) white vinyl upholstering, custom (hand made lol thanks mum!) gear boot with new Isotta short shift and a modded gear shaft. The interior panels were also sprayed in the same colour as the exterior, a few Mitsubishi chrome decals (off some Xi verada), blue and black seat covers, some blue neons and an Autotechnica racing wheel to finish the look. lol just realised that there is no longer ANYTHING (except the glass which is about to be tinted) left stock, everything has been changed in some way... Cheers for all of the continued help to everyone!
Cheers,
Adz

Wow that looks good. Always good to see someone invest in a 2nd gen.
What process did you go through to spray the dash?

thank man, i pulled it all apart, sanded it back, had a beer, sprayed it with primer, had another beer, sanded it quickly, sprayed 3 coats of Autopaint on it, had another beer, then a quick gloss coat and she was done by late arvo...peice of cake really. the dials were kinda harder they needed a fine detail piece brush and ultra thin paint, but got that done to after a few more beers and a struggle!

Lookin' good mate!
Please see attached:
White circles - Just wondering why you didn't paint these bits?
Red squares - Good quality black carpet mats would look better IMO.
Yellow Circle - Whats the switch for?

hahaha puck! lol didnt paint those bits because 1) ran outta paint and 2) couldnt be ****ed! the switch? :bowrofl: id like to say NOS but its the command for the neons (incar and undercar)...the steel mats set off the incar underseat neons coz they reflect up.
Cheers boys! lol

Dont like any of the chrome or white stuff inside the car. Also needs a better steering wheel, doesn't float my boat. Otherwise very neat car for a 2nd gen. I've seen some nice ones recently but nothing comes close to this one guy I know.

...dude, have something constructive to say or dont say anything at all...everyone would agree if they've worked hard at a project constructive critism is okay, but when you do nothing but pay it out, you may as well not say anything...

theres nothing wrong with what he said, it was just his opinion. people give me **** all the time about mine....but who cares...
He did say it was a very clean 2nd gen

Ignore it Adz.

he basically told him all the work wasn't good enough... kind of demoralising...
imho keep nasty and unproductive comments out.
if he has a suggestion then he needs to word it differntly.
very nice interior!!! makes me wanna get up off my ass and do something similar.

As much as I'd like to agree with everyone, your interior is too caustic for me... Reigns is well within his rights to say what he thinks, as you (Adam) have posted your pictures up here for criticism by members of the forum, and you didn't get a positive comment, suck it up mate. What reigns said wasn't even that bad, until you've seen some of the stuff Tuff gets about his car, then you might have reason to complain.
That said, I like your exterior, and I like your steering wheel (was looking at the same one today for my own :P) But yeah, white doesn't do it for me, good job though, appreciate the effort put into a second gen :) Keep it up!

looking good mate, i like it :D question, is it easy to change the gear stick boot? coz mine needs changing, as well as the knob. ive heard the boot is a pain to change and the right knob is hard to find due the length of the thread as an aftermarket knob may be too high.
nice work !
Gearstick boots are easy as, most aftermarket knobs just slide on with a rubber boot on the stick for friction and then get locked down with 3 or so grub screws.
Unfortunately, i agree with the overkill comments, my eye's would burn out in that thing and checkerplate! oooooooh! you're not driving a minitruck!!@#
but each to their own.

Big 4, the gear shift was actually a bitch to put on, since the isotta shifter i got only went down about 3" or so, i have to take the gear shaft out, cut out a portion and tackweld it back together then had to file a little off the top so it would sit just right, well worth it tho, it doesnt look so tall as it used to! and its a tonne of fun to drive.
Cheers,
Adz

mmm touchy touchy.
I'll happily Tell Tuffy he's interior was good when it wasn't that stupid Fluffy crap!! lol
My favorite second gens were TZA Boy's Old car and I also Like Kims. Let me demonstrate.
Perfect Modification Outside. Perfect choice of wheels, tyres, lowering tint. Less is more. Good job Jase.

Love the sidesirts. Second gen's look stupid with front kits and rear ones, standard ones are best. Great use of Ralliart Rims, suits the car more than the car is originated on. Love teh side-skirts.

Relevance? While your first post was fine, I believe this is just getting rude, you pointed out you don't like his work, good for you, now let it go. AMC as a whole needs to grow some maturity.

What he has said is not rude, it's his opinion, you were allowed to voice yours weren't you?
He is showing an example of what he thinks looks nice, and giving AdamJ2006 a very detailed description of what he likes and what he doesn't.
It is better that he says to him what he doesn't like than what he does like because it may inspire AdamJ2006l to change a few things to make it look better.
I have to tend to agree with him though, white just doesn't look very good and neither does the badge on his dash, the colour does not flow or compliment the rest of the dash which is a shame because there has been some hard work put into the car.
Sorry, got the wrong name.

Very nice job there mate. Not sure I would personally go white but the finish is pretty schmick, gotta paint that vent bit GRDPuck pointed out though:P.
Have you thought about putting something into that shelf thing below the head unit to stop the paint from getting chipped off? Rubber possibly? Also having a different colour there may help break up the centre console.
Other than that's it's a pretty well finished off car. I like the effort put in

there are 4 screws that hold the boot thingy down.
those staples are so the boot is held onto the plastic frame which is held in by the 4 screws.

with the gear boot, i took the old one out as tuff said its held it by 4 screws and a few staples... i cut the thing out and got four pieces and simply traced around the leather onto baking paper (as a template) and then copied and cut this onto the white vinyl. lol at this point i went home and got mum to sew it all up and she gave it back to me stuck to the plastic by hotglue and some tacks on the underside, all i had to do was put it together and mod the gear shaft. Well worth it, not TOOO much effort, gotta thank mum for that one tho!
Cheers,
Adz
