There was an article on the net about some people in the US trying to improve the sprint
times for an 80's Nissan Bluebird or something like that. They ended up stripping the car of
everything bar the drivers seat. This includes all the panels as well. And sure enough, the
car was very fast.

There was one on here a few weeks ago, they cut the roof off, all doors, and the rear of the car, no interior, no panels, went from mid 16's to mid 14's lol

hahah.

Panels = heavier than carpet, why do you think it actually went faster? ACTUAL weight reduction, as in hundreds of kilos.
Not carpet, spare tyre and some foam seats hahahahhha:bowrofl: :bowrofl: :bowrofl:

I've often imagined stripping a car down like this myself.

By doing what he's doing he might well have saved 50 kilos in weight - about as much as a slim passenger. That's got to improve things somewhat - at least fuel economy.

Think about it. You're at the strip one day doing some quarters and then someone says you have to take a passenger - would you? Even a 50 kilo one? Of course you wouldn't.

I say go for it! Unless it's illegal.
