It seems that my red Elante hates flywheels. Just after it had the new engine and gearbox put in it, the flywheel feel off (even after having standard loctite put on it as the manual says). After replacing the flywheel and bolts it seemed OK until almost 18 months later the damn bolts snapped clean off!

Everyone I have spoken to says they have no idea how the heck the bolts can just snap off!

Thats interesting about not using loctite because I'm sure the service manual tells you to do so.

I would of thought if there was an end float or balancing issue then it would of been able to be felt through the car somehow :S

the bolts break for some reason cant be just weak bolts and threads

It's unusual I have never seen it happen before :( I have heard of flywheels just falling off but never snapping bolts!
