I have a 2003 TL VRX which has had some intermittant starting problems that I have previously posted about.(Many thanks to Martybugs for his helpful article)

However, now the problem has developed to the car stalling/losing all power (including ABS and power steering) at random intervals, including when travelling at speed. Generally when it happens the engine just cuts out completely but other times it feels like it is choking. After it cuts out the car usually restarts after 2 or 3 times. I cant work out whether the engine is just shutting down or whether it could be a fuel problem. Some of the time the fuel emmission light comes on but when it cuts out completely ALL warning lights come on.

Does anyone think the starting problems are related to this problem or are they seperate? If they are seperate- what do you think it could be?

I am taking the car to Mitsubishi service centre tomorrow and if they cant identify the problem then I am going to ask them to do what Martybugs had the mechanic do to his car;

My guess is a faulty immobiliser, but see what the monkeys at mitsu come up with.
