Hey I have a TJ VR-X and want to source a set of TL VR-X tail lights as I like the dark tint these have. Do they fit the TJ??? Does anyone have a set? Thanks all

Yes, they are a straight fit. I put some on a TJ.

Yes, there are some members who have done it for the lack of keyhole... Some modification required with regard to that I suppose.

I thought it doesnt because of the corners where it meets the rear bar are different?

XR trunklids are not interchangable as Piv said. The corner down where it meets the bumper is more curved. Another Bouley inspired change. Cost a fortune and and did bugger all.

Apologies dragging up an old thread but cannot find what I'm looking for. Thinking about fitting TL/W VRX Tail Lights to my TJ VRX. I want to confirm that the TL/W lights follow the profile of the TJ rear quarter panel & rear bar OK.

Is there anyone in Adelaide that has a TL/W tail light I could borrow to 'test fit' to my TJ to see what it looks like?? I live in the Modbury area of Adelaide

I believe they follow the profile of the quarter panel and rear bar, but NOT the bootlid. A bootlid transplant would also necessitate a new rear bumper too, afaik.

Probably depends on how fussy you are.

I've seen photos of it and I'm not fussed - I wouldn't do it to my car. But I seem to be in the minority with that opinion.

I had TL/W lights on my TJ and the only thing I noticed was the lights are about 5mm shorter where it meets the boot. Apart from that they were perfect, no leaks, much prettier at night.

To fit a TL/W bootlid you would also need to change the bar which is getting abit costly at that point....

The TL/W boot lids have a larger round where it meets the top of the tail light compared to the TJ lights where the round is much smaller.

thanks for the replies everyone. I am not going ahead with the TL/W lights, rather have had a kind offer from a fellow member to tint my current KJ tails. Thanks Mike looking forward to the results.
