Hokkai, so.......

Ive got a new headunit, new front speakers, new rear speakers and 2 amps to run each set of speakers. I dont have a sub, nor do I want one.

Hoping to get this all hooked up this weekend, looking for a list of what Ill need to buy so if I do it on Monday (public holiday) then Ill have all the goodies I need.

Example List of whats needed: 2x RCA Splitters, 10M of X type cable, 1x ABC Fuse etc

Sorry for being a complete n00b, Last time I just gave my mate my Credit Card and said go nuts, but no good on a public holiday is it.

If you need more info on what Ive got, just ask.

Approx prices would be good too :)

PS. I did a search first :)

howdy all;
This is what i mainly used for my set up. it may not be what other members have done or used but these were the easiest things to use when i did it.
The first thing you will need is an amp wiring kit, these include a main power wire (red large guage wire), a ground wire (same as power except brown), an inline fuse for the power wire, a length of wire (usually blue) to use as a remote wire and one set of RCA cables. If your installing 2 amps you will need more power wire and ground wire as well as a second set of RCA's.
Next you will need a splitter terminal for the power wire (for running 2 amps). This enables you to split the power from 1 cable to 2 without much trouble. All items mentioned thus far can be bought from anywhere that deal with car audio (go to pro-sound in newie or autobarn in maitland they are normally good for those things).
Splitters for the RCA's you can get from car audio places or any dicksmiths or tandy stores (a lot cheper) they are pretty common and very useful, same goes for speaker wire they sell it by the metre so it is relativly cheep to get it in large quantities (80 cents a metre this afternoon when i went over). After that its a simple case of locating everything where you want it and runing the wires accordingly.
Hope that helps
Thanks
Uncle Andy

*edit* a crimping tool and crimp bits (or a soldering iron, solder and heat shrink if you want to be ultra profesional) are a must if your doing it yourself

just go out and buy a 4ch amp kit
4ga wire you would need minimum
should have all that need to install the amps
you may also need a distrobusion block seen as you have to amps
also some 8ga power wire will be needed
make sure you have 2 sets of RCA's, your deck has 2 pre-outs yeah?

what amps will you be running?
what head unit are you running?
what speakers are you running?
locating the amps under seats or in the boot?
