My dad just gave me a call as he is driving with my mum and his mate to a houseboat in the riverland, he rang to tell me his car had just died. i said check the battery terminals have nothing on them and are connected properly, he tried to start it again and nothing happened, and i heard some stuff about the alternator on here so i said maybes its that, so he rang RAA and the RAA guys recons its the alternator too, but my parents have to be on a house boat in about an hour and a half, they rang mitsu and they recon its 500 to fix it?
any help? thanks

bit steep but from mitsu its expected if u want a new i no repco sell them for 281 then there is the cost of labor if u don't want to do it you self or you could find a auto lecky and do a swap for one he has already reconditiond

Did the engine light come on at all ??... Im not 100% on magnas, but I know in falcadores if the alternator isnt chargin, the engine light will appear an depending on driving conditions depends on how far you've got too go....Did it just all of a sudden die?... or did they have a warning at all??..

i think it died suddenly, the problem was rectified as the RAA person charged thier battery and they made it to a auto lecky. he said it was a blown fuse between the battery and alternator....50 bucks later back on the road.
close thread please mods:)
