Less... red... please, for the sake of my retinas.
I don't like it. I doubt this will look good, seeing as you painted the skin, and will contrast nastily with the colours of the dash that its lines flow to... I doubt you catch my drift, but yeah... KISS.

Holy **** thats a lot of red..! What did you use to colour the door trims/glovebox as its a very soft, vinyl-like material??

Wouldnt you prefer a 2 colour scheme? Red and black or somthing.

EDIT: the colour of the doors is pretty much the same colour as the dash its just the camera i took it off thats all
That would look pretty good then.

All I can suggest (as I have planned to do this myself, however a little more black/red contrast) is that you use a SOFTER red. So its not so "OMG EPILEPSY" lol
Red with a little more darker (maroonish?) tinge like you see in luxury european cars.
Use a red that subtly blends in, and use more black to contrast. Not one that screams at you every time you get in the car. That isn't the point of painting the dash pieces etc.
However your paintwork is fantastic! :D

hey man...the job itself looks MINT as...but red isnt my colour...its too flash for me...i think a bit more black to balance it out...and it should be schmick man
QUESTION FOR EVERYONE.
I'm looking at doing the interior of my TR. I'm wanting beige leatheer seats, beige vynil dash (top half) with suede (bottom half) where the nasty harsh plastics are. I'm looking at doing the doors in beige vynil and with the botom half in suede, slightly mimicking my dads VE. haha... also, i'm looking for somewhere that will mould black short-fiber carpetting for me. Who thinks the beige will be coolish or foolish?

Looks like youve put a fair bit of effort in dude!:bowrofl: The job itself looks real good, and the paints coming up heaps good! i wanna see the finsh product now tho! Are those rims in the background are they for the magna?
D!GG3R
10-06-2007, 11:46 AM
nah lol since its been raining it of my brother Subaru lol he wanted to changed so he can go drifting :bowrofl: but nah im not of a fan of those rims, im just getting racing rims from just japs in Sydney like the ones u see on alot of drif/race cars

i can see and appreciate the work involved, but oh god i wouldnt wanna do shiftwork with a car like that...getting in there at 3am in the morning...no thanks!
as others have said tho, better suits a whole themed autosalon car or something, and wouldve rounded the whole theme out if the car itself was red or black...
would ppl please google the word 'contrast' tho, or am i just wasting my breath? :P

are you going to do the rest of the dash? i think its gone so far that it all should be done red now.... wasn't a complete fan of the first stage, but some of my favourite hot-rod interiors are completely red, which kinda makes it 'less' red, if that makes sense!

yeah but not red the inside is going RED and BLACK and later on im getting the out side in black with purple pearl, but i got a question for youse all, see the doors? well should i put red vynal inserts or do them in black? thats including the map pockets, cos ive got chrome window winders to go on and plus putting black speaker covers on iduno if it will look to over done with the inserts and map pockets done in red as well, cos the rest of the dash is going black, so give me ur ideas please :D

i think the insert and the top section of the door should be black, to match up with the dash.

looks like you done a top job with the painting cant really see any runs or anything.
i think congrats for having the balls for doing something different and posting it up, you tend to find ppl on here are a little scared of new concepts with their magna but in about 6 months time you will prob see a few copycats and other ppl wantin g to do it also lol ..
if i could afford it i would go all beige interior lol

nah the the red bits on the dash i used a thing called K&H or something vynal/plastic paint, and the black is gonna be the rest of the dash were you can see red and im not using the same thing for that, im using the proper stuff

I wouldve gone with a cherry instead of purple seeing as the inside is red. I have seen quite a few custom paint jobs with cherry or apple or whatever they call it.

By posting on a forum, you're asking for people's opinions, if you don't like what is said, then don't post up your work, simple.

He didn't ask for any opinions, he is posting to express how happy he is with his work so far, as far as I can tell.
D!GG3R, awesome work mate. It's great to see you are definite in your ideas and stick with them no matter what feedback you get. Much respect.:D
