k, the story goes like this,

a mate has a TJ.
car runs fine with a full tank of fuel,
as soon as the car gets to 1/2 tank, the car dies.
it's not a dodgy fuel gauge as the km's are correct for 1/2 tank (not enough km travel'd for to have used a full tank).

he's had a few mech's take a quick look and they suggest the pump, just wanted to see what you guys think.

any thoughts would be good.

I'll put a vote in for the pump as well. The same sort of thing happened to a mate of mine with a VN Commodore.

Sounds very uncommon and strange, but who knows?! Hook up a fuel pressure gauge, and watch what happens to the needle when it's about to cut out/die.
