is the chassis of the te the same as the awd tj,:) ? and if so, can i get the running gear from a 2002 and make mine aw?d,:D also will the 3.5 fit sraight into a te, ? any body? :bowrofl: would love to update my Te. :rant:

Wouldn't it be quicker/cheaper/easier to sell the TE and buy an AWD?

You can however put the 3.5L into the TE pretty easyily. :)

Yeh the AWD setup is totally diff to the FWD, it would cost over 20k for sure so best bet is to hunt around for an AWD!!


but throwing in the 3.5L on the other hand is possible and quite a few have gone through with the conversion!!

The AWD has a different floor pan, firewall, K-frame, rear crossmember, fuel tank, etc, etc...

Yeah, I went through this befor i bought my AWD.
I wanted to AWD my TF and its not even close to affordable, Massive reconstruction of the firewall along with heaps of other technicalities.

I just bit the bullet and bought a TJ AWD and have not regretted one minuet of it.

VRX engine is the same as the regular 3.5 + a rear muffler change. So yeah, put in a 3.5 and change the muffler and it's a vrx.

i dont get it wouldnt it be easier to get a TJ AWD and bolt on the TE front and rear and interior? i guess u could also use the doors off the TE too.

ok mad ill have to start to shop around and stuff since ive got a 2.4 will have to change a fair bit ay,
