View Full Version : TR/TS Dash Cluster Differences

Hi, im looking for differences between the TR and TS dash clusters.
Reason is i have been playing around with Early falcon clusters and printing designs which glue onto the original template.
But lately my mate has got himself a TR/TS? 4cyl and gave me the template for his car and now ive been able to make designs for that but im not sure exactly what models it will fit or what difference there are between 4cyl, 6cyl, base, medium range models etc. ?
Below is a sample of my work, i would like to know how to advertise this as its the only Mitsu template i can get a hold of. Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Please dont think of it as spam because i dont intend on pushing any of my work on anyone, i just thought i could get some valued info on this. Cheers!!

No difference except for the maximum speeds on the 4 cylinder (200) and 6 cylinder models (220)
KS Verada had a different font on their dials, and white needles, but thats about it.

Yes thanks, i read somewhere here that some have 200 and some have 220.
Would all the numbers, lines, still line up together between the two or does the 220 dial push everything closer together if you know what i mean

I'm pretty sure it pushes everything closer together, you'll probably have to wait until a V6 Second Gen member discovers this to get proof though, I don't have any photos of the cluster...

From memory, 110 was at the top in my old KS which means the numbers are closer.

Hmm, thanks for the info guys.
So basically i would advertise it as.....
"To suit 4cyl base model TR/TS Magna (NOT VERADA OR 6YL)"
????

The KS Verada's had the fancy italicised fonts.
I'm almost certain that there were only 3 types of dash to suit all TR/TS Magna & equivalent KR/KS Veradas.
All 2.6 GLX, Executive, and SE had the standard 4-cyl dash cluster, with speedo up to 200km/h.
Normal font. Orange needles.
2.6 TR Elite had italic font and white needles
All V6 Executive, Si, SE, and all Verada ei (KR and KS) have the standard 6-cyl dash cluster, with speedo up to 220km/h (and yes the numbers are closer together so the position of the speedo needle in a V6, say, at 100km/h, would be different to a 2.6)
Standard font, orange needles
All Verada xi (KR and KS) had the italic font and white needles, like the 2.6 TR Elite, but with the 220km/h speedo
Don't forget too that the automatic transmission also had a P-R-N-D-2-L display between the fuel gauge and temperature gauge, whereas it's blank in 5-speed manuals.

As well as the KS had a few more lights such as seat belt light, the KR XI with suspension had the lights along the bottom.

Yours are faded lol
I have two tone dials in the XD, There half faded yellow and half orginal orange lol
Slightly off but could make a difference for painted dials.
Whats the story with the different coloured down light on the cluster. I have one TS (maroon in colour) with blue down light and another TS (Light blue) with white (now swapped:D ) and my old man thinks that his old KS wagon( dark Green) had green down lights. was this an aftermarket thing or a factory option?

Mine are pee yellow, for you see, our beloved TuffTR's pee is orange, indicating there is blood in there, so he sees this as normal :P

The overseas DOHC versions had a 9,000rpm tacho meter and 240km/h.
Just like mine here

Dood you gotta me up with one of these!
But do they work? i.e. if plugged into a TR/TS whatever with a DOHC conversion?

Yeah it does bro
I had mine installed by the auto elec because my simple slip in was reading wrong lol
