I have a 97 TE 3.0L V6 Advance Wagon that is experiencing significant engine problems. The engine bogs down with the RPM hunting until it seems to come good for a short period. The local garage identified both the TDC and TPS codes are being registered. I have searched the forum before posting and will check the following:

- loose and / or broken wire resulting from a timing belt change (done <6 months ago)
- dirty or corroded contacts to TPS
- check dizzy cap & leads for wear / damage
- replace fuel filter and add injector cleaner
- reset computer (leave battery disconnected for 24hrs)

Anything else I should check before taking it to the dealer ? Strange how two codes are triggered...

TIA

TDC is basically essential to getting the engine to run properly (timing) and TPS - you can run without them - badly.

Fuel filter/inj cleaner is irrelavent - wont clear the error codes.

As to gremlin - WTF? Looks like a spambot post...

Heath,

I agree, the fuel filter / cleaner is only a pro-active maintenance action.
