Tried searching but came up with nothing...

Last week I bought a brand new Genuine Mitsu Blaupunkt GPS Kit cheap off ebay, installed it (easy as pie, except the cords are way too bloody long and they need to be coiled up and stashed somewhere ) and everything works fine. Still getting used to the way it's setup. Pretty damn happy with it so far. Fits in tidy with the console.

What bugs me is that the map cd is from 2001 and a lot has changed in Brissy since then. I've run into a few places not on the map and wrong turns here and there.

Anyone know If there is an updated Aussie map cd available for the Blaupunkt TravelPilot DX-N? Was the same GPS unit used in all Verada models? There must be updated cds available somewhere. All I can seem to find on google is cd maps of Europe and other foreign places.

I know these cds can cost a fortune, but I would really like updated maps. If there are none out there, so be it.

Just thought I'd ask here if anyone knew anything before I ring Mitsu up Monday.

Cheers.

From memory those CD,s were from Where Is? using UBD maps.Try contacting them to see if they have updates. Those units were fitted to th TJ Verdada GTVi as standard for a limited time.I've fitted quite a few. They fit KL as well with the retro fit of thr KJ centre console. How much did you pay for it.?

Yes the CD is a WhereIs? UBD. Will try contacting them. Thanks for that.

Paid a tad over 400 insured post, brand new. I know it's an old unit, but I want to keep the factory look. I'll be spraying the entire centre console soon enough as the only woodgrain piece left now is the stereo\climate control surround and to me it just looks out of place.

I also have a Mitsu (Blaupunkt) sat nav unit that will be going into my Verandah sooner rather than later. I contacted Whereis about getting the latest map CD and they told me to contact Blaupunkt. I emailed Blaupunkt but no reply yet. Might have to contact Bosch next as I think they own Blaupunkt?

Meph - None of those cd's appear to be compatible with the Blaupunkt unit.

Mohit - Let me know if you get a response from either Blaupunkt or Bosch.

Cheers.

Its only a CD..if you can get the update...who ever buys it only needs to make an "offsite" backup, and then maybe Mohit and kj.ei can go halfsies...$200 :D

Nope you won't get a updated CD for that system as they have stopped production.

Think the best you will get is 2004...

Hi,

Piracy is when you take a copy of a something someone has the rights to and sell it for your own profit, my original post had nothing like that in it, it is actually legal to make a backup copy of a CD.

I was only suggesting splitting the cost!

And please do not tell me you have never downloaded any music of the internet, or games, programs, movies of which some have been illegal....

And lastly this is a Car Forum right? So why do u actually care if someone here will make a copy of a CD? If this was a Computers geek forum I could understand but a Car forum should only concentrate of Car related issues and not software piracy.

This is actually one of the reasons people like the Skyline forums ... Because you can actually say stuff there without it being deleted.

Thank You

No thankyou...

Go back to your skyline forums then

edit:

just checked through your posts and they have all been you breaking for sale rules, or doing something dodgy. Pull your head in. Next slip up and you'll be out the door.

You can dress it up as much as you want, but saying lets buy the cd and make multiple copies of it to 'split the cost' is not legal at all and certainly not what our car club is about.

Do it in your own time, I don't care, nor will I hold a moral highground on anything. Just keep it off AMC.
