Hey everyone,
on thursday i went to a wreckers up at lonsdale after going to u pull it (and getting some bits off an elante they just got there) and i saw this!

To my surprise there was a blue GT Magna in the pile and also a grey elante behind it!
Anyway, they were about to go to the scrapper, so i went back up there yesterday and bought it! For an expensive $300! (apparantly they get $200 just for the body by scrapping them...apparantly!, and they wanted $200 for the wheels to sell alone) It has no motor or gearbox, but it had only done 100,000kms!! (wish i found it before it got smashed!) But also, the left hand side of the car is in top condition as are all the doors. So if you break it up that way its cheap... as in doors are worth decent money each (for another blue GT... Same colour with stripes etc, im sure ill get one with rusty doors or something one day) then theres the interior, and the front guard and also the wheels.
The elante had a side skirt on it and everything, but i took that, along with the plastic black bits the go behind the rear door window (dont know what that bits called!)
I dont think im going to wreck it just yet, sit around as a novelty for a while! Or i could take the front off my wrecking elante and put it on it and put some custom engine in it!? Hehe i think that would be a waste of effort though? It has the rego papers, so you could probably get away with it if you used the old numbers.
The wreckers didnt even know what a GT magna was, actually they thought i was pretty weird, so i left them with a copy i have in the windows of the GT's in my car yard so he knows what they are in future, and also my card so i can buy any more :P
Anyway, i went back yesterday and got them to forklift it onto my trailer and yea, now its here!

Im guessing it would be pretty rare to see something like this next photo very often!!

The Magna towed it back (big cement hill, lonsdale-west lakes and everything!) without a drama!
I am after a set of rear side skirts that go between the rear wheel and back bumper... then i will have two full sets of kits and can put a set on my burgandy GT, i dont want to put it on untill i have a second full set as i know i will need another soon (on a better GT or a standard magna thats immaculate) and dont want to risk not having some when i need them!!
The TP white elante i bought is still apparantly on its way from NSW, i hope it is, ive paid for it so it better be!
Anyway, thanks for reading my babble!!
Alex.
