hey, recently i had my exhaust done (dualies yay), and when someone on here was selling some cheap wildcat headers i jumped at the idea, although having to pay the fine i got, and had to par all rego and all that jazz before i got the money to get them fitted.
so anyways their on, sound great, nice deep sound, not much performance, although didnt expect much cos i knew that they werent tuned length and what not.
BUT my problem is, about 3000 revs its makes a high pitched whistle and is pretty freaking annoying. im definently taking it back to the place tomorrow after i finish work, although anyone know what this whistle could be?
cheers!

Exhaust gases escaping from a leak somewhere....

I had a similar problem when the bolt to my cat vibrated loose and there was no longer a decent seal between the flanges. It made the most terrible buzzing noise.

Just hope its just a bolt not done up enough, and nothing that has warped or something..

Cheap headers = warped face.

Either that or bolts not torqued correctly (or in the wrong order).

Most flex pipes are only single braid (cheap Chinese ****) and pull apart or tear easily esp during removal and installs once they've been running on a car for a while as the staino becomes brittle. I'm no metalurgist - it just happens. The twin braid is often bulky and bulges into the exhaust stream - stupid but REAL. So check the flex pipes they may just be buzzing at certain rpm due to deterioration or damage. Unbolting 2x bolts will give you a quick insight on their condition. Oh, a hoist helps too :D
