Which part of the exhaust?

If its a muffler, go with a hi-flow muffler to make it stand out ;)

is it a muffler with a hole in it or just some pipe with a hole?? if its just a section of pipe have just that replaced...should cost around $50.... if its a middle muffler... you could get away with chopping it out and replacing it with pipe if your selling the car.. it will be a bit louder and probably wont sound as nice but if your selling it who cares hey

Not really dodgy, just a temporary fix. If your selling the car just do that.

If your going to sell the car you should have some moral objection to just patching up the exhaust and not saying anything about it, make sure you mention to the person that it at least has a hole that needs to be fixed.

Used car dealings is a dog-eat-dog world, most people will not mention to you the problems of a car that you intend to buy, morally wrong yes, but it happens.

I know it happens, and it's a flow on effect, it happens to you and you do it to the next person. But think about how you would feel if you have just spend all your saving on a car and it's going to cost you another bunch to get it fixed up because the seller didn't tell you about the problems, problems that you wouldn't have minded but didn't budget for.

When I sold my TP I told the buyer everything that was wrong with it (everything excluding the motor), I showed him all the problems and explained why they were that way, He still bought the car because all he wanted was the motor, but I had to make sure!

When I bought the current TS SlyTS told me pretty much everything that was wrong with the car, there were oil leaks from the motor and the transmission, wire was holding on the grille, seats didn't match, clock wasn't plugged in and some of the wires were a bit messy and it was good because I knew exactly what had to be fixed! ( he wasn't wrong either, all the things he mentioned to me were picked up in the roadworthy, nothing more)

The chain has to stop somewhere!

It's business, let the buyer beware. People know the risks associated with old 2nd hand cars and should be prepared to deal with them. If it's a member of the forum it might be a different thing but I would never have a problem selling a dodgy car.

It's like owning shares in a casino and feeling guilty that your dividend is being payed by degenerate gamblers :doubt:
