Hey all,
Went to put my L plates on the back window this morning when I noticed a thing i'd never seen before. I had a considerable amount of condensation on my back window and three quarter windows. The condensation is still there from this morning, but it's died down a bit.
What could this be? Any Ideas? I'm thinking it's just humid air in the car mixing with the cold melbourne air outside. Thing is, I can't find where humidity could be coming from inside. I checked the footwells, seats and boot area, but found no signs of water leak or moisture.
Any Ideas as I have no effing clue.

lol @ u made a thread about condensation:nuts: U know it gets cold in meblboure at winter time haha
Maybe your big empty boot is trapping that cold air and keeps it colder longer seeing as there's no nice warm engine to take it away.
Here's an idea push your rear demister button:bowrofl:

you're a funny one aren't you? Geez, it's weird how none other of the five cars in the driveway has condensation reaching to the top of the back window. Then again, i MUST be stupid! can I get serious comments? there's a CB Lancer at my place mate, they're always fogging up, that didnt have a drop of condensation on the back window.

Don't stress! Demister button ftw http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/images/smilies/laugh4.gif
i wouldn't panic too much mate, unless your interior is getting wet when it rains, you're fine.
Cold Melbourne weather + old car = condensation.

i'm going to keep a close eye on it when it rains. it hasn't happened before. that's the thing. it's been sitting in the driveway for about a month, out in the weather, and i've never seen this before.

As the air outside your car cools down it also cools down the glass on your car. The cool glass on your car allows the water vapor in the air to collect on the glass. A really cold night will draw more water out of the air in your car, this is why you have been noticing it more than normal since the weather has started getting very cold at night. Don't worry about it, your car has a de-mister button to remove the fog from your window.
Where I live it's not unheard of to get to -2 at night, at this point the water in the air outside the car freezes and we get a nice coat of ice all over the car, my door lock iced up the other day and I couldn't unlock my door!

Okay, guess it's just wot you guys are talking about. the reason I was asking is that my 6x9's are sitting JUST below where it is. I thought if there was a leak somehwere and it was dripping into my speakers...well you get the pic. thx for all the serious comments though...

I have the same things on my first gen, but in my case it's coz the boot is really poorly sealed, and I have a huge rust hole in the boot under the rubber seal (about 20cm's long!). Maybe just check under that seal to be sure you aren't getting any water through a rusted out ridge or something. I think it may just be what everyone else above is saying though, but can never be too certain ;)

If it's actually wet, then the humidity in your car must be quite high. Driving with the window partially open more often might fix it (or the heater and aircon at the same time - dunno if you have aircon), but I'd be towel drying it every time I see it and keep any eye on how wet the carpet gets because it could start affecting your speakers.

Yeah you see it's not actually fog. It's droplets of water, that when touched seem like you've washed your hands from the focet. if it were just a little fog or small bubbles of water. i wouldn't be worried. But in this case it isn't so.

Nothing to worry about, as the water out of the air precipitates it forms larger droplets!
Next time you have a foggy window run your finger along it, what do you have when you remove your finger? A drop of water!
Seriously dude, it's normal.
