As title states. I previously hit a tiny wallaby on that side but it never appeared to cause any damage to the light. Recently there's been a lot of condensation in the headlight (after newcastle storms), maybe 1mL of water in total. I'm not sure if it's just humid air condensing in there or actually water leaking.

I took the headlight out yesterday and pulled all the bulbs out and dried it with a hair dryer till it was warm and dry then put it back together and used silicone roof and gutter sealant around the rubber boots that cover the backs of the globes. Went for a drive in the rain today and there's haze in the light already.

I couldn't see any cracks in the plastic at all, and none of the rubber boots were cracked or perished. Indicator and parker looms seemed to seal tight.

Any ideas how to fix it? No warranty so a free headlight is out of the question.

I don't know if immersing the headlight assembly in water will damage the wiring etc, but this will most certainly show where the leak is!

Failing that - new one from Ozeparts.

If you cant sort out the problem I have a pair of TL headlights I would part with cheaply. I bought them to do a projector install on but never went through with it and have since sold the car. http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48990&highlight=headlights

Thanks.. but I'll live with water in my headlight and $200 in my pocket. If it fogs up bad again I'll immerse it, it's really a shell once the wiring looms are pulled off. Good excuse to get some chrome verada ones

greenmatt: did you ever open them up? If so they may not be any good to me. I'll keep them in mind though.

No I never opened them up at all. I would part with them for $100, unfortunately somewhat less than I paid for them but without a TL they're not much use to me.

next time instead of removing the headlight just leave the car running with the high beams on it goes away eventualy

Nah it was more than just fog, it was wet inside, water drops formed on half the plastic.
