Hi all.
I got my TJ Sports converted to LPG a couple of weeks ago.
The guys did a great job, can not fault the workmanship, and I swear I can not tell the difference in power, except for the initial take off, and I couldnt care less about that.
But...
I get around 300km to a full tank of gas (80litre tank, but can only fill up around 60-65litres).
Q1) Is that normal economy?
Q2) Is a dyno tune recommended to get it to perform well on gas? Who should I go to?
Thanks in advance for your help ;)

Hi FLY00A
We corresponded on the weekend i am the one having the trip computer problems with it not working on gas. Whoever installed the gas for you should have also dyno'd it for you. I am getting around 400ks to the same size tank as you and yes despite it being a 85 litre tank you can only ever fill them up to 65 litres. Has something to do with an air lock or something ? The fuel consumption does not appear to be as good as my 93 model falcon that i just sold which gave me around 420 to the same size tank.I also had my systen installed on about the 15th June.

80 litre tank probably has 60-65 litres of lpg useable. Sounds about right.
I get a round 260 around town to 330 only highway driving with 54 litres on an 2001 pajero.
With yours i would expect around the 400-450km mark.
Sounds like it may be running rich. After installation the installer generally advises to take it back at 1500kms so they can re adjust the mixtures. Have you done this?
Initially they run them quite rich after the install but at the 1500km inspection they tend to lean them off a bit so it should improve.
The converter and mixer need to bed in depending the type you have on your car. There a re diaphrams and springs and other crap inside them that need to settle hence re adjustment after 1500kms.

Im getting 490-520kms from 70litres around town & only a little better highway at 530-560kms.
In saying that I use the m4 & m2-m7 sometimes coming home from work but not always, say 2-3 times a week.

I get around 370k out of 50l in my TL driving only on the highway but in my TE my range was anywhere from 250k to 300k depending on traffic & whether or not the A/C was on, (made about 25k a tank difference).
You don't say what type of driving you do? City traffic at rush hour, highway driving, etc. 300k for you does seem a little low & probably worth a call to the installer.
