how do i take off the cable for the airvent in the 3rd gen dash off so i can install the cd players.its the top bit above the all the airco buttons and stuff

Get on your knees outside the drivers side door and peer up underneath the steering wheel towards the center, you'll see the (2 i think?) cables there. They just unclip off.

dam, also is there suppose to be a vracket that holds the cd in place, cos i think they stole that to. i looked at my dash and alli can see is the actual plastic dash bit. no metal brackets behind it

There are 2 metal brackets that mount to the sides of the cd player, they would have to be there still otherwise your cd player would come loose.

dam thats missing, them pricks. hmmm does anybody which wire has power on constantly no matter what.

Just go to a wrecker, i doubt they'd charge much for 2 metal brackets, maybe $10 at the most. As for the wire, there was a wiring guide floating around but i'd just use a multimeter personally because some 3rd gens have different coloured wires.
