G'day guys.. I brought a slimline ps2 today for $160 from big W.
Also waiting on a power source that i got off ebay for $33.00 including postage, which plugs straight in the cigarette lighter and into the ps2. So no need for a power inverter:)
Im getting a 1-din screen off ebay aswell. Here is the site to what kind of screen im getting: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=016&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=260132291118&rd=1&rd=1
The seller has pretty good feedback, and he is also the wholesaler of these products in Australia.. i read a few comments on here about buying screens in hong kong and stuff, and there very untrustworthy. But the bloke said that the screen has really good picture and sound quality for its price. They are similar to the JVC ones and come out of the same factory.
I will fill you all in on how the picture and sound quality is once i install it all.. Pictures will be up once the progress has started.
While im here i should ask where do you guys think i should put the ps2? noting that with the slimline, you have a flap that opens up to put a disc in. Glove box has been the best bet so far, ideas would be greatly appreciated..
Cheers, Aaron

i got the same brand tv they are pritty good, why dont you put the ps2 in the bak arm rest :)
or make it customised to sit on top, glove box is always easy, theres also an option of under the front pasenger seat,or if you realy wanted to do some realy realy cool, customize it to fit in your front dash

Yer, i know that they are trying to do there best in selling there product but his feedback backed it up with good results.. I think it would be too wide to put in the back arm rest tho:doubt: i have had some crazy ideas in modifying the dash and putting it in there but that would be alot of hard work considering im doing it myself..
With the t.v tho would i just connect the power cables to the head unit??

i've got my PS2 sitting in the glove box - I just had to drill a couple of holes in the back of it to feed the cables through so you can still close the glove box without the cables at the back jamming it open, and it looks neat as (you can't even see the cables at all).
I don't know how you would run the cable to the cigarette lighter though, unless you unplug it every time you use it. Mine is running off an inverter which is hidden behind the centre console (only costs around $80 installed and is the better way to go i think).
How are you running everything else? That screen you are buying looks to be a headunit in itself. I'm assuming you would be running both headunits at the same time? Do you have an input in your existing deck? Because you will have to run the video through the screen headunit, and then the audio through the existing headunit wouldn't you?

What do u mean about how I am i running everything else??
the screen i am getting is just a screen so i cant insert any discs in it..
yes, i will be running both decks at the same time so the video cable will be going in screen and audio into the deck..
Still want to know where to get my power souce for my screen???
will i just splice it into the deck??

How you are running everything else as in amps etc..
I guess you could just splice it into the deck

does ur car have airbags?
If it doesnt, get an airbag flap, cut that section out of ur dash, couple of hinges, a neat little pocket, and no-one even knows u have a ps2 in there.

all the amps are running straight to the battery with an amp wiring kit..
im sure splicing it into the deck wouldnt hurt..

Im with andrewD on this one.
Put it in my car and ive played it 4 times since.
Its great for show, But it hardly gets played.
Your better off buying a ****ed one from Ebay for like $30 and just shove it in the glovebox. BUT if you can find time to play it while in the car then kudos brother

Everything is in the car now.. just one problem?? THE SOUND
i have plugged the playstaion's audio cords into the back of my pioneer headunit and i cant turn it up and the sound only comes out of the back speakers??
i have 2 sets of red and white inputs in the back of the headunit.. (1 being the rear speakers and the other being the front)
so do i need like an adapter thing so i can plug it into both the front and back???
help would be greatly appreciated..
Cheers, Aaron
