As the title says, I want coilovers. However I'm not too sure about brands etc. It's pretty hard to even find them to fit a magna. I'm looking at around the $2000-$2500 mark and I want them to be fully adjustable. I already know about the sway bars, etc. so I have just 3 main questions ATM:
1) What brand should I be looking at?
2) Where do I get them from?
3) What price am I looking at.
And before you ask, yes I have searched, no I didn't find the answer I'm looking for, yes you can link to an older thread if you want to and no I don't want springs and shocks.

Got a quote for $2,800 for Koni coilovers. The guy gets a koni red shock, and makes them into a full coilover. That was only a couple of weeks ago from Fulcrom Motorsport up QLD way

You may as well start with yellows as most of that cost would be the labour involved with the machining. As far as Hot Bits goes I've heard some bad things from owners.
i got hotbits and had no problems so far, some people have had problems but i think they were all fixed
they work nice :D

thats way too much considering it's a cut, weld and choose the right spring.
My friends make coilovers all the time for 86's and they cost very little to make.
We were talking about magna coilovers and you could use your existing shock and convert it to a basic coilover with a sleve kit. (don't ask me which one I wasn't paying attenion) The main part is choosing the right spring, which is the hard part.

^ What he said. Hotbits "sport" spec coilovers are height, damper and rebound adjustable (damper and rebound adjustment are tied together within the one adjustment knob).

Yeah do a search on 'Hotbits' there was a special going on here a while back for around $1500 - $2000 a set. Don't know if that's still the case though. I think it was Phillcom Rally selling em.

For 86's its a very common practice and has been done a million and one times, i doubt many places have done it for magnas, although the principal remains the same. I think you can even buy kits for sprinters as its such a common practice. But yeh it does seem a lil expensive.

The answers youre after depends may on what you want them for...
Hitting your local track? Pose value of being able to dump it on demand? nicer handling for the street only?
From what I can gather, in terms of actual performance you're often better with quality shocks/springs, rather than cheap coilovers.
Full adjustability doesn't tell you how good the coilovers actually are, in terms of damping control, tolerance for heat etc, durability etc.
