does anybody know what a engine for a 3.0L TE 97 magna is worth or i can pick one up for ?

the reconditioned 3.0 for my TS set the previous owner back $3400 fitted. that included everything down to the hoses and oil filter. that was in 2005 so they may be cheeper now

There are or were brand new ones from the factory on ebay. I should know I bought one direct from the factory.
