My door rubber is falling down. It's the soft one that goes round the door frame on the car's body and sticks to another piece of rubber on the frame. What would be the best glue to reattach it with? Silicone, superglue?

silicone attracts rust so don't use that.
How is it normally held on?? cause if you glue it it may never come off again.
Could u find one at the wreckers in better nick and swap it. Or if it's held in buy clips , just buy a pack of new clips. I'm sure they didn't glue it on at the factory so id reattch it the way they did it. eg, clips,new\better nick rubber seal.

opps so it's gulued down to start with, then disregaurd what i said about clips. when you do glue id just be carefull it dosen't do any damage to ur paint from fumes or the like. well if u go the cheap route like superglue. most auto stores should stock some kind of automotive adhesive. like 3m should have a panel bond product in there range that would work good (used for putting body kits on etc.etc.)

On the 2nd Gens they are glued on, You can do 2 things:

- Epoxy Resin - mix and glue, put a bit of tape over it to hold it there whilst it sets.

- Screw and washer - drill small hole at top corner, put a small screw and washer over the rubber and tighten it, guaranteed to never move again, make sure you use a washer otherwise the rubber will just pull over the screw. I used this method on my TR and never had to worry bout the seal again.

I used a very thin double sided adhesive tape for the door seal rubbers. Worked fine and has been there for ages. I'd say it is a close relative to the stuff that was on the seals when they were first installed.
Bought a reel of the tape from Office Works.

Thanks for all the responses everyone. I'll look into using some contact adhesive or sikaflex on these.

Some of the other rubbers have been glued up before as well. Must have been a slack day at the seal gluing bay in the factory the day mine was built.
