Hi My 93 Magna ran perfectly well then next time it would not start. Key gave clicking buzzing noise. Thought it may be starter motor but just before I got into it it went and started nicely again. Then a few days later it stopped again (turning key gave no action) - buzzing noise from just forward of fuel tank. After a few hours it started. Too unreliable! What's this electrical problem likely to be and why an electric motor buzz from underneath near the front of the fuel tank? Thanks

ummm i know your new (welcome) but you posted in the wrong section
should be in general or tech
as for the problem might be the wire around your ignition coil
pull it out and have a look see

AFAIK that buzzing noise will be your fuel pump. Could mean one of 2 things

- Your pump is broken
- Perhaps the pump is working and thats the noise it makes when it is running, and you usually dont hear it as you usually hear the engine kicking over about this time.

Is it a 4cyl 2.6L?

I had this issue with my 2.6, theres a plug that runs from the dizzy (I think, its been ages) and connects to somewhere near the rear of the engine bay on the passenger side. I took this plug off and it was corroded to buggery, gave her a clean with some contact cleaner (wire brush will suffice for testing sake) and reconnected the plug and issue went away.

Apart from that, perhaps get a battery/alternator test, most supercheap auto places will do it for free.

Thats all Ive got, hope its of some assistance.
