Hi guys, I am new to the Australian Magna Club as I have only just recently purchased a 1996 TE MAGNA SEDAN. I have had the car 3 months now and am experiencing a problem, I have searched the other threads and cant find something similar. My problem is that for some reason when the car is idleing after it gets to normal temp, randomly the idle will just up to 2,000 RPM and sit there for about a minuite the drops back down to around 800rpm. I cant understand why the car would do this. Also just recently when the air con is on the car will stall when at idle as well. I had tried increasing the rpm to 1k but it still does it. The car had a full service about a month ago, but I dont understand why the car is doing this. Any help would be appreciated from members.

your idol solinoide might be cloged up thats what happed to mine and my TH keept stallin

I'd be betting on your Idle Speed Controller being knackered. If it's stalling when you turn the A/C on, then it's likely to be the ISC.

what did you adjust ??

i would be resetting the base idle and tps and disconect the battery for 10 min

how do you re-set the base idle??
had the same problem, cleaned the throddle body, reset the whole ecu
costed $50 at mitsu, but problem solved

Clean out your PCV valve. See pic. My TF was doing the same - mostly stalling thou! Cleaning this should be a 10000km inverval job really.
