Hey guys,

Just wondering, when you take your car to a dyno, to get the power and torque figures...are they calculated seperately? And does the dyno have to be calibrated for each calculation. For example, if I want to find out my torque output, does the dyno have to be set for that specific calculation and vice versa for power?

One run for torque and one run for power?

The reason I ask this is, Ive seen a dyno for a friends car (its stock). The power figures that came out on the dyno are roughly what you get minus that 15% drive train loss. But the torque numbers are like Waaaaay off...

torque will always be way off because it is torque at the wheels. If you want to find out torque at the engine, you will need to calculate it based on the dif and gear ratios. You will have to specify that you want power and torque on the same graph, but personally I'd be more interested in AFR as the secondary graph.
