Sorry mate but you're dreaming if you think you can get a full kit installed and painted for $1500, unless you can DIY on the installation/painting part or know someone who will do it for a slab or 2. If your budget is this small and you're not willing to go any higher, there's only 2 options i can think of:
- Try to find a Magna sports (ground effects) kit, they're usually around the $750 mark, though it's not a full kit, just a few add-ons to your existing bars.

- Only get certain parts of a kit, say front and rear bars, or front and sides, even then you'd be pushing it.

I agree, Im getting a full kit for a very nice price and im gonna be pretty close if not breach 2.5 grand.

not really. if his willing to look around and mix and match to get something good he may pull it of.

thats the budget i had in mind while doing my car and i was well under it but then again i did mix and match and searched for good deals.

my talon front was $200
VRX skirts was $250
although i didnt to the rear bar a VRX rear could have been easily picked up for $200
paid $250 to get my skirts and whole front bar painted and it would have been and extra $100 to get the rear done if i went through with it which is still under $1500. dosnt take a much to but a kit on a car so thats something you can do.

if you look on ebay there a guy selling really cheap kits so try there.

as for painting when you get the kits shop around and you will find yourself a pretty good deal. there are ppl who do a really good job for cheap. i was lucky enough to find one here in melbourne and he did an awsome job on mine and since then has done all paint work on my car and friends and familys.

if you have something in mind drop me a PM and ill see if i can find you one.

I agree with ashneel, shop around for bargains
if u like vrx kits :
Jonos ebay VRX kit =$770 delivered
carmate flairs =$200
2 ltrs of Dulon & thinners =$70
still leaves 450 for someone to paint it for u.
go for it:D

Agree with others above.
If your after a specific kit then the budget may need to go higher.
If your willing to be patient and keep an eye out on ebay & these forums, then bits may come up cheap every now and then.

monty_magna,
Would be very interested to see how your front came out with the extra bits cut out. It sounds very similar to what my Panel Beater is currently doing for me with my new front bar.
oh, and welcome to the club.
When you get some pics, post them here... http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50150

monty_magna,
Looks good - similar to what I'm having done to my front bar. But still slightly different.
Do you have mesh on those holes? If so, what kind of mesh is it? Like the stuff you can get from autobarn/supercheap or Ralliart mesh (more of a criss-cross mesh - hard to explain).

lenda,
I like the Ralliart kit, but I may be a bit biased lol
Looks like you have plenty of time to look around and do your homework which is good. Only problem with the Ralliart kit is the front bar - it's got a bad reputation for being long & low - easily damaged. Not looking forward to that :doubt:

not too sure what mesh it is it came with the kit but looks better quality than the stuff you can pick up from your local autobarn etc.

Lenda
yeah there deffinatle is a prob with the ralliart front being low my car is currently ridding on 17s and is still stock standard height and having a lot of trouble negotiating even slight incline/decline think i need some bigger rims some time soon:)

lenda

i have 18 inch rims, lowered with sports ryder suspension all the way around, standard lowering. will this cause a problem?im real careful as it is, im not going to rush this as it will be a while before im getting this it, so im looking at all my options!!!

Sorry to hijack your thread.

Does the mesh look like either of these...

*edit*
For anyone searching the forums for info on mesh.
The front bar monty_magna got from the guy on ebay came with the "other" style mesh (see pic on right). Pity, I was hopeing it might have been the "Ralliart" mesh coz it's expensive.

could possibly pose a prob just depending on how much the car is lowered i have a set of king spring "super lows" that i wanted to put on but my mechanic suggested that i dont as i would scrape on almost any thing. i think the super lows are meant to lower aprox 1.25" to 1.5" not really sure. my mechanic suggested that if i wanted to lower my ride that i get some bigger rims at least 19" but if your already a very carefull driver then its entirely up to you. where i got cuaght out was where i did not realise just how low it would sit. if you want i could do some measurements tommorow.
cheers monty
