Ok lads and lasses, just thought I'd update you all on the sprucing up of my engine bay; behold!
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g35/z0mgluke/25062007629.jpg
You're looking at a Whiteline strut brace, painted heat shield, 3000GT Bomz intake pipe (imported) and a lot of dirt, grease, coolant, oil, and under that an Astron II with a rebuilt head.
I did the 3000GT pipe a few months back, the strut brace around the same time and I just painted the shield a few weeks ago with my calipers. I plan on a blue top radiator hose, blue radiator cap, blue overflow bottle, and some other miscellaneous blue :P My girlfriend says I'm an idiot for customising a place that nobody looks at, but pfft this is how I roll :P
Questions? Suggestions?

Well done - very nice.
Always wanted to get one of those chrome 3000GT intakes pipes.
I saw one once that was anodised blue instead of chrome - but since then I've only ever seen these for the Twin turbo - not the NA :doubt:
Did you get yours from the US?
Now you need to do what I did to my Scorpion with the same engine. Get the Rocker Cover polished (get one from a wreckers if you cant be without your car for a while). They come up looking real nice & shiney (almost chrome).
Oh and as for the "why do you do that - no-one sees it" question... You see it, other people interested in cars see it, and mechanics see it. If you look like you value your car and your car's engine - then maybe the mechanic will too.

Very nice luci!

AUTOBOTS ROLL OUT! :2cool:
Yeah I really did steal some parts from him, how can he save the world, if he cannot breathe? *agent Smith cackle*
Pipe cost about $120AUD posted to here, about $30 cheaper than the ones with the pod filters, but seeing as I wanted a K&N filter I passed on that piece of crap lol
Big 4 Cyl has just got one and will be fitting it shortly I'm told :D
The pipe can be sourced from eBay.com... the American variant, just search '3000GT intake'.

Lookin hot mate, just make sure you clean it all up as well, nothin worse than a whole heap of sexy coloured and chromed mods, and grease and dirt all thru the engine bay. Might be worth pulling it apart? Do a bit of a piece by piece clean?
Anyways, looks tops mate, keep it up.
Cheers,
Adz

like the intake , but im one of those ppl who hate the heat sheilds on astrons. Makes it look cleaner without it ,and the dreaded cracking of the factory headers which ive seen one every magna at the wreckers with a heat sheild ,so i took mine off (looks better and hopfully stops the cracking down the track).
