Looking at a ralliart (RED) and just a quick question... cos i dont like the stock enkeis, im gna get some kool lookin ROH's, but i dont know the specs on what i need to look for.

heres the linky to the product catalogue:
http://www.roh.com.au/asp/product_catalogue.asp

The ones i reaaalllly like are the FLASH and PROWLER's

FLASH's come in 18's only but Prowlers come in 18s and 20s. Can someone explain the pros and cons of 20s cos i know they look super sweet but if im dropping a ralliart on lows (def not supas) will it still handle ok??? plus ill need to get lopro tyres yeah??

thx in advance

i know its not what you asked, but imo if your going for the black with polished highlights, then you def need to consider these too!
http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_closeup.asp?part=&part_no=739

imo their so nice, and come in 17's 18s and 20's...

20's = cool

but also = illegal in 8.5" width illegal in load rating unless you get 245 wide...

also = worse performance due to heavier sprung mass, more fuel worse brakes etc...

but you wont notice after a week, unless you put the stock 17's back on...

the correct tyre size for a 20 on a magna is 225/35/20 but you cant get the load rating in that size..

byt if you dont care about the above get 20's they will look heaps better than 18's if you get 18's imho you might as well just keep the stockies..

and despite what anyone says it will still handle well

but its not so much for the size, im buying them primarily cos i like black rims on red ralliarts, so ill probs stick with the 18s, just that lil bit bigger than the stockies but minus the hassles of load ratings and ****e. With 18 by 8s or 18 by 7.5s will i need low profile tyres or what?

with 18's u'll want a 235/40R18 tyre...

as for the low profileness have a look to the left.. i'm running 18x7.5 Lenso RS5's with the same size tyre

From the above suggested rims, I'd go with the Flash rims.

Unless someone corrects me - to my knowldge...
Ralliart Enkei's are 17" 17x7.0 (Possibly ET46 offset - to be confirmed... Anyone?)
Original tyres were Pirelli P6000 225/50/17

Here's a site that's great for working out the rim/tyre combinations and what the effected difference is.
 http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp :rofleek:
Enter your rim's details and the details of the proposed rim and it'll show you the differences on the pictured rim/tyre as well as some further information lower down on the page.

I like the Speedy Cheetah rims but they only come in an offset of ET35 (on 18x8 or 19x8.5). Not sure if they will fit. I think they may stick out too far. :doubt:

My tyre place said the best thing to do is find a place with the rims you like or order one rim in. Fit it onto the car and see if it fits. If it doesn't then you may be up for a minor freight charge to send it back ($10-15 or so) but at least you will know for sure.

Wow, that Tyre site combined with the Rim/Tyre site I posted up are GOLD for working this stuff out.

It's funny how a couple of years ago 18s were considered huge!

IMO 17 or 18's are the way to go. Why?

19/20s have numerous drawbacks:

- Cost much higher, especially with the prices for decent 19/20" tyres. For the same money you can get much better quality rims and tyres in a smaller size, or keep the change.
- Much heavier. More unsprung mass = less responsive handling and acceleration
- Your brakes will look comically piddly, ruining the overall look IMO.
- Harsher ride quality.

For me it's a no brainer, as I prefer the look of 17/18" rims anyway, like to have some tyre sidewall. If you are of the "the larger the rims the better looking" type people, then maybe the trade-offs are worth it. Only you can decide. You can't deny the wank value of 20's :)

i've got 18s, just for cost perspective...

ben, how bout actually buying the car first...? so many of ur posts have been 'wat stereo should i get', wat this, wat that... some of which are now irrelevant because u havent bought that certain car. buy the car, then come on here saying 'ok, its this colour, this model, now wat looks best etc'... might actually be alot more worthwhile in the end, rather than tons of questions that are now pointless...

Just in my opinion.. 20's too big most of the time, they look too big on small cars and you feel every peice of gum you roll over, bump bump bump. Also the steep price.. im looking at 18's myself (after going through, cost, fitting, looks, feels etc.) I found the 18's still to look nice, price affordable and still ride nicely :)

Thats just my opinion.
