There are lots of cheap little things you can do to quickly make it non-stock, where to begin?! :D
Let's see... Guess some depend on what you have, eg. auto vs manual, what it's come equiped with, etc...
* Gear stick boot -> mine cost $2
* Seat covers
* Dash clock, pick one up for $10-30
* KS grille, $40-$80
* Ignition barrel light, ~$5
* LED dash lights, $10-20
* LED interior lights, same again (quality and brightness varies, do some research first)
* RE-badge with chrome TJ badges

I'd suggest really learning how the dash/console fits together before attempting to paint it, pull it apart a few times. If possible, get replacement bits from a wrecker, that way you can take all the time in the world to do a good job, and still have a useable car. Doesn't cost much at all, $20 should get you all the bits.

Lots more, but gotta get back to work...

Depends on how you want to do it and how much you want to spend. Could just get some spray cans colour-matched, sand 'em back, and do it, or you could spend hundreds getting a pro to do it.

I think one main problem is the sanding part, you could just clean and spray, giving the slightly bumpy finish, which probably wouldn't be noticed except on close inspection, or go in for some serious sanding to get it all smooth. Maybe alright if you have equipment, a real pain if doing it by hand.

I still need to do my bumpers, my side strips are done, I got pre-painted ones from a wrecker to save on the amount of sanding needed, sanded them, a base coat of plain cheap black can to save on paint, then an overlay of stock stratos grey via can, then clear via can, turned out pretty good. That said, I'm colour contrasting rather than colour coding, so stock colours worked fine. To colour code, you'd want to get the paint properly colour-matched.

Bumpers are too expensive to justify buying spares to paint, so I've been procrastinating over getting my **** into gear and sanding the bastards...

Most important mod for the interior would be Electric windows. You can get a kit for around $500. I had a kit on my old white TS which I got from Ebay.
I have the seller's MSN contact if you want send me a PM he always has stock.

This is a must. Wind up windows are crap and look el cheapo.

Everyone has to agree with me on this one: Steering wheel!!
Dont get one from autobarn or anything lik those "racing" ones you see around at markets, get a 3rd gen wheel or maybe even a verada/elite wheel. The executive wheel are horrible to drive with and look a.

Yep no boy racer steering wheels please :confused:

Perhaps something from a KS Verada or a later model magna verada would be nice

I got aa TE steering wheel from the wreckers for $45. it's in immac condition, was just a bit dusty.

Mods I've done to my interior (gives it that little something extra)

Glovebox with centre armrest
Woodgrain trim from ELITE
Dash clock
TE Steering wheel
ELITE Door pockets with speaker pods

that's all for now.

What's on the cards;
Black/ Charcoal grey dash & door cards
Beige leather seats and bottom half of dash- Refer to interior of diamante if you can't get a visual
Black short-pile carpet
Geat stick boot(yes my car's an auto, but the commodores and falcon auto's just look mint with those on.hehehe)
Power windows

Umm, I don't know about everyone else, but the first thing I did to my Magna (besides the undercar neons) was a quick CAI replacement, seeing as the original one was crap. Took me about $30 worth (actually $15 I only used half and gave the other half to a friend) of flexi-pipe and 20 mins worth of work. It improves the cars response time a lot surprisingly. Of course if you don't want to dive under the hood definately go with a new steering wheel and maybe new front grille.
