Hey
I;ve just purchased a trackpro central locking kit and all the installation instructions look straight forward other then where to hook up the 12V power source for the kit? Is there any readily available source of constant 12V power in the cabin? Or will i have to run a separate wire to the battery? I know there is a constant 12V running to the stereo but i would think attaching another device to that would draw too much current and overload it?

Any help?

Best just to run one from the battery if you don't want to take head unit power.

room fuse, interior fuse box.

i believe i used the ignition, there was a fuse between that and the central locking kit.

Plus i also believe the constant 12v on the stereo just keeps the clock going and the presets there when the cars off, im sure its the acc 12v that does the hard work

i've got my centre dash clock, my head unit and my remote central locking running off the same live wire. Also, i've got the running off the same earth aswell. sure when u lock it the head unit light dims that tiny bit, but it sure as hell aint overloaded. It's alot more work to send a couple new wires to battery that just to HU. then again, I'vve got a 2nd gen, maybe things are different. though they shouldnt be.

cheers,
