As soon as i get my tax return, i will book my car in for a engine checkup, as its currently leaking oil out the rear. Its difficult to see if it is the rocker cover gasket again, or the head gasket this time. Either way, i will get this professionally checked.

Now, since the head etc is coming off anyways, was wondering if there was anything that i could change to get a bit more power out. Either a performance intake, or whatever.

What would you do if you had around $1k, to be used for leak check and remaining money.

Curious to see some suggestions

just the rocker covers leaking I would suggest

a steam clean or degreaser try not to take the head off

might be more trouble / corrosion / oil burning /unknowns

performance look at ..new injectors/ fuel filter/air filter /air flow meter / coil /plugs and leads if compression of engine is good

Well, i have air filter, plugs and leads already replaced. What could new injectors do? The current ones seem ok. I have no compression issues as far as im aware.

Get the injectors cleaned and flowed. Have the heads cleaned up and skimed .5mm to bump up compression that's what I would do.

Getting the head shaved sounds like something that would cost quite a bit. Would increasing the compression have a negative effect on pistons etc?

No, its not as much as you think, no negative effects on pistons, there's plenty of room between the pistons and the valves. Takes away any warpage over time to.

You can get injectors flowed???

I'd never realised that were even possible... although I don't see the point of getting them flowed unless there's a serious need for extra fuel anyway - like a charger or something... :S

U flow them so they are all at equal rates, balanced one might say. A balanced engine is a happy engine :P
