Does anyone know if a LH mount 4g92 turbo will fit into a 1991 Lancer and if so will it need modifications or is it a straight bolt in?
Or does anyone know a better engine all togeather?

if the lancer is a ca/cb series, the engine is on the left. The motor was a 4g15 i think, and from memory, there was a mivec variant of this engine available. Also, if my memory serves me correctly, in Japan, they released an all wheel drive version called the Cyborg R.
Hope this helps.

yeah my lancer is a left hand mount so the gearbox is on the right.

Yes the 4g63T will fit the 91 lancer no probz, some things may need to be changed to bolt in but nothing major!!
Here is the 4G63T you would want to go for

Make sure you dont purchase the later model 4G63T 4WD engine as they are ten times harder to fit and require a lot more modification!!
hope this helps!!

How do I know the dirffirence between the fwd and awd models because I think theres more than 1 type of 4g63 right? If the 4g63t is an evo engine shouldn't they all be awd? or is there a model that came out of somthing else that was fwd?

Well the only reason i say this is because you cant use the FWD gearbox for the later model AWD 4G63T engine, so its better to go with the one i have posted above as you can use your FWD gearbox with it no probz.
I was told that if i use the later model of the 4G63T which i think is the cyclone labeled engine i would not be able to use my FWD gearbox as it wont fit correctly but apparantly with the earlier model engine the FWD gearbox can be used with no major modifications!!

so you mean to use my factory gearbox it would be better to use an earlier model 4g63t?
So not the one with cyclone printed on top of the distributor?
So out of the two below I would want to use the 1st image?

Yeh correct, well this is what i was told when i wanted to go down this path a while back.
But just do a search on 4G63T lancers via google and you will see that it is possible although having searched this myself this conversion still requires a lot of work and some custom parts may need to be used in order for things to work correctly.
PM a member on here named narkus, im not sure if he still posts on AMC or not although he knows a bit about this conversion and lancers in general!!
Good luck!!

sogg put one of these in his 1st gen magna. So maybe pick his brain to see if he came across any drama's or what not seiing as he's done this engine conversion. I know it's mot a lancer but thats the engine u where looking at i think. Anyway he might have better info to give seeing as he's been through it.
oh and thats his engine by the way.
