doesa anyone know the diffirence between an air to water and an air to air intercooler?

I dont think air to water intercoolers are front mount. is that right?

Air to Water gives a better cooling system but has some niggly issues with it. Air to Air is considerably easier to install, but tends not to have nearly as much cooling power.

Yeah it is. That is the stupidly chromed thing you see on the front of Skylines/WRXs/Evo *s. I think the Air to Water ones are front mount as well, but not sure.

An air to air intercoler DOES NOT have to be front mounted.. it can be mounted ontop.. or to the side.. or underneath.. or at the back.. it doesn't matter

Simply put...
An Air to Air intercooler uses the outside ambient temperature air to cool the heated compressed air. Whereas a Water to Air intercooler transfers heat from the heated compressed air to the water which is then circulated to keep cool.
