Bwahahaha my mate who I havent talked to just got his car 'systemed' and was raving about how cool it looked and sounded compared to his stocko system. He then laughed at me at how much ive spent on my response/fusion equipment and told me how much he spent.
What he got:
BERZERK 6"s front and back ($19 per pair)
2xBERZERK 4 channel 560W amps ($88 Each)
10" 1000W Twin Sub in box ($99)
hmmmmm?
I laughed when he said 19$ per pair of speakers, but is his happiness due to ignorance or are these actually an improvement over stock speakers? Im pretty sure i could sell my old stocko pulsar speakers for more than that!
But the sub box looks pretty kool tho!!!

It would probably sound better now only because he has the speakers amped, lets see how long they last :P.
Not saying budget systems are bad, i had a very budget system when i first started, but you build up/upgrade as you go along :).

Hmmm... It'll either sound good, and catch on fire in a couple of weeks, or sound bad and last forever...
Just from my past experiences anyways...
But who knows, shonky stuff seems to be getting a bit better now days, maybe we'll all be surprised!!! Don't feel too upset if you have spent a fortune compared to his system.. I put over $12K worth of stuff in my TF only to have my wife say to me "is that it?"

hehe supercheap special? theres no point telling him anything, he'll believe it until he cranks up something too loud and it distorts like crazy. sure it would sound better than stock, but will be alot worse than yours. put on something that needs decent quality speakers (think Metallica - S&M, or similar with lots of different frequencies) and theres no way his system could handle it all. wouldnt be wanting to crank it ;)
nah Bezerk = Strathies special :)

i got 1 of there subs in the boot and it sounds great
have you ever heard another sub before? :P but na, if it sounds great to you, consider yourself very lucky.. when you know better, it becomes an expensive hobby :(

I must admit, I've never heard a "bezerk" sub, either in a car or on a sound board, but I have heard the cheapest "fusion" and "sony" subs and a hideous "rampage" 12" playing at low levels. They don't sound too bad at lower levels, but they aren't as low, or "full" as the more expensive types. They would probably be a good choice for ppl who want to add a little more down low at ambient levels of volume.
I have NEVER heard a cheaper sub have a linear response no matter what enclosure it's been in, and the one's I've listened to are abolutely shocking at higher levels of output  No control whatsoever, and they make every bass beat sound stressed, boomy and muddled.
I'm very sure if I had of found a sub that sounded nearly as loud and/or as sexy as the one's I've got now I would have bought them. I can't stand buying stuff for nothing but the "bling" factor (not that there is anything wrong with that:)).
The infinity's that I've got cost no where near what some ppl would pay for a good sub, and they aren't the best...but for what I want they suit perfectly. Pure, gorgeous, smooth SQL bass.

I had an infinity sub sounded nice as (a lot better than my other clarion one), the only bad thing was I had a cheap amp which has now died, was a crappy super cheap style amp only cost me 80bux and then decided to burn out sum circuits.

lol, i would say they are the greatest but i work for strathfields and their speakers do sound better than most entry level mainstream brands. cant say the same for theie subs though they sound pretty bad.

Hmm...
If he's that gullible, tell him that stabbing the speaker seals with lit cigarettes actually improves sound output.

I'm with your there mate, if i was half as satisfied with my 10k plus system as he is with his i would think that it MAY have all been worthwhile :(
