Hi,

Shortly after I purchased my TH Advance in 2005 I fitted Pacemaker extractors, a 2.5" exhaust with one hotdog and a straight through muffler in the back. Last week the rear muffler decided to break off where the exhaust enters and is now beyond loud! The pipe stops at the back of the rear wheel well.

After waiting a week and putting up with the noise i've just ordered a complete two piece redback cat back system. 2.5" mandrel bent to the tail pipe. Hoping it will be much better than what looks like a dodgy welding job with press bends and cheap mufflers (supercat).

It's getting installed tomorrow so I will see how it sounds and if it makes any difference to power/torque curves. Currently suffering from flat spot between 2000-3000 rpm.

Let me know what you guys think.

Cheers,
Josh

Wouldn't part with much more than $400 supplied & fitted. The Redback system is the cornerstone for magna aftermarket systems and has served most members quite faithfully imho.

Sure the look of the system is curious, but most systems of this price category are. There's always TIG welded titanium systems from $1600+ :doubt:

Btw, the flat spot is a function of many things with the motor - combination of stroke-v-bore, inlet design and camshafts. It won't ease this situation any noticeable amount - sorry.

Thanks EZ Boy.

I've paid a little over $440. But i'm just glad that i won't have to worry about driving round in something that causes the seat and mirrors to rattle as soon as i put my right foot down a little.

Don't think i'll be worrying about a TIG welded system..i'm not producing that much HP.

I've read alot about the flat spot problem. It has reduced thanks to Barry's fuel rail system. Probably doesn't help with the K&N panel.

Will see what happens tomorrow. Getting it done at Austec Exhaust in Campbellfield.

Cheers,
Josh

Keep an eye on this thread: http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35528

Hoping this will assist with the flat spot as the prototype did.
