when i turn my heater on there is a huge vibration that comes from it...im thinking there is maybe something in there....or maybe a blade broken or something.

does anyone know where it is and what i need to remove to get to it?

HAHAHA this is exactly what happened to my fan.

does it go away sometimes and come back again (talking short terms here). Also i found that if i put it on low it would be ok but after a while(go over a bump) it would come back again.

Mate i pulled mine out the other day, it did have a little something from a tree in it, but the bearings or bushes had gone in the motor. The fan moved in and out and side to side which caused the rattle/vibration.

Mine lasted a good 8 months or so like that till it stopped altogether just last week.

got a quote from mitsu yesterday. $170. I have a WTB in for sale section not yet approved.

Take the guard out from the passenger footwell. 8mm ring spanner or socket or phillips head screwdriver and bobs your auntie. You will need the ring spanner for the screw closest to the firewall as it is a prick to get at.

hey buddy, did you end up taking out the fan? And i bought one from the wreckers yesterday and fitted it and it works like a charm. $75 is all it cost me.

BTW it is a bit fiddly to get it in and out.

I had the exact same problem when the fan was on high. I took it to my auto electrician yesterday and he pulled it apart. Turns out there were two (yes, two) dead mice in the fan, which was causing it to vibrate cos of the imbalance.
I guess they crawled in for a bit of 'how's yr father'. What a way to go.

oh dude no no no! that is gross!

i pulled it apart about a week ago and there was a heap of leaves and stuff in there, but there is a massive amount of play in the shaft. i will pull it apart and see if i can actually just replace some bearings in it or what not....and if it doesnt work i will just go to a wrecker and get one. $220 from mits, $80 from my local wrecker.
